Geometric Shapes Geometric shapes are 2 dimensional shapes that are common to us, i.e. squares, triangles, rectangles, kites.
Squares: 4 equal sides with 4 90 degree angles.
Rectangles:2 paires of 2 equal sides, with 4 90 degree angles.
Polygon: A many sided shape. A regular polygon has to have equal sized sides and angles. An unregular polygon just has to have 3 or more straight sides.
Parralelograms: a shape with 2 lines in it that will never meet if continued forever.
Pentagon: A five sided shape where all sides and angles are equal.
Hexagon: A six sided shape where all sides and angles are equal.
Triangles: A three sided shape. If all sides and angles are the same it is an equilateral traingle. If two sides and angles are the same, it is an isosceles triangle. If no sides are the same, it is an scalene triangle.
